Concept of Ayurvedic treatment for premature Ejaculation:
Ayurveda is divided into eight major branches, and Vajikarana is one of them. This branch specifically focuses on sexual wellness, enhancing sexual potency, improving spermatogenesis, preventing sexual disorders, and managing as well as treating various conditions related to sexual health.
In Ayurveda, Shukragata Vata presents with symptoms similar to premature ejaculation. In this condition, vitiated Vata, especially Apana Vata, enters the genital region, leading to depletion of Shukra Dhatu. This disturbed vata not only weakens the reproductive tissues but also creates anxiety, stress, hyperexcitability, and loss of voluntary control over ejaculation.
Ayurvedic Approach to Treatment
The management of premature ejaculation in Ayurveda involves a holistic assessment and treatment plan:
● Comprehensive Evaluation: Detailed history-taking to identify causative factors, assess aggravated doshas, and evaluate dhatu impairment.
● Examination: Ashta-vidha and Dasha-vidha Pariksha for a thorough diagnosis.
● Classical Formulations: Medicines described in Vajikarana Chikitsa are chosen according to the examination. Since Vata is the main dosha involved, formulations with Vata-shamana
herbs are preferred, including Ashwagandha, Bala, Dashamoola, Varuna, and others.
● Counselling & Satva Strengthening: Psychological counselling, meditation, yoga, and mental discipline to improve self-control (satva-bala).
● Diet & Lifestyle Guidance: Advising appropriate ahar and vihara to balance doshas and promote reproductive health.
● Behavioral Guidance: Training in techniques to enhance control over reflexes.
Ayurvedic treatment for premature ejaculation focuses on sustainable improvement and long-lasting results. However, consultation with an experienced Ayurvedic physician (Vaidya) is essential, as identifying the root cause and selecting precise treatment can only be done through proper clinical evaluation.
