Soc for Cybersecurity vs Soc 2

SOC for Cybersecurity and SOC 2 are both assurance frameworks developed by the AICPA but serve different purposes. SOC for Cybersecurity assesses an organization’s overall cybersecurity risk management program, regardless of industry or service delivery model. It's a general-purpose report intended for a wide audience. SOC 2, however, evaluates the security controls of service organizations based on specific trust criteria (e.g., security, confidentiality). It’s tailored for B2B relationships and third-party assurance. SOC for Cybersecurity provides transparency about an organization’s cybersecurity posture, while SOC 2 demonstrates operational effectiveness of controls over time. Both reports build trust and credibility.
