Digital distractions can potentially take away your time and energy without you even realizing it. With all of the constant notifications that you receive, and the number of times you get sent down a rabbit hole from things you didn’t need to be redirected to, keeping your attention on what matters to you is difficult. In addition, these interruptions also have risks that are not readily visible—your devices become vulnerable to unsafe links, data tracking, and cybersecurity breaches.
Disconnecting completely is not the solution; you have to take control!

The first step is to eliminate access to distracting websites during work hours, and only keep essential tabs and/or extensions in your browser. This way you are eliminating clutter, and keeping your focus on where it belongs.
Additionally, the more you can strengthen your data security, the better you will perform. This includes keeping your web browser up-to-date, regularly clearing cache, cookies, and history, and managing your network settings. All of these small, but consistent, actions will have a cumulative affect over time.
The correlation between focus and security is significant. The more you have a clean and distraction-free working environment, the safer you are from outside threats, which in turn increases your productivity, thus creating a digital workspace that works for you rather than against you!
